Sustainable Training Portal (MERAS)

Initiative idea

This initiative seeks to provide quick assistance to university affiliates in various essential areas they urgently need to smoothly start and navigate their university life. It does so by offering a digital, visual index that guides them swiftly to what they need, presenting answers to the most frequently asked questions. In addition, it aims to continuously meet the ongoing needs of the target groups by addressing their constant demand for certain skills relevant to their sectors. It also provides important links that direct them to details related to each entity or service.

Initiative Objectives

  1. Enable new university affiliates to quickly access everything they need at the start of their academic journey.
  2. Achieve cost-effectiveness in expenses.
  3. Save staff efforts across different sites and reallocate them to other tasks, including the efforts of the Deanship team.
  4. Overcome time and place constraints, allowing users to access information without being tied to specific times or locations.

Requirements for Implementation

  • Identify the entities and essential needs of new university affiliates.
  • Coordinate with relevant entities to record a short video about each service/department.
  • Upload the recorded videos to the Deanship’s webpage under the “Sustainable Training” tab.
  • Announce the launch of the Sustainable Training Portal.

Importance of the Initiative

This initiative contributes to preparing new affiliates of the university—faculty, staff, and students—for smooth integration into their roles across the university, in collaboration with the relevant entities.
